If you are having trouble breathing, call 911 immediately.
For the immediate future, we will only allow patients (no visitors) to enter our facilities for the safety of our patients, their family members, and our staff.
If you are seeking medical treatment at our Emergency Room, please note the location of our sanitation station at the entrance of the waiting room. Upon entering, if you are experiencing a fever, cough, or shortness of breath or have been in close contact with someone suspected of exposure to the Coronavirus please put a mask on and sanitize your hands at the station. Once you have put your mask on proceed to the front desk and inform our staff member of your condition. A trained clinical professional, who will be wearing a mask, will escort you to a room where your medical condition will be evaluated by a licensed physician.
In this time of the COVID-19 outbreak, the health and well-being of our staff, patients, and community is more important than ever. As such, we have instituted extra measures in an effort to reduce the risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus at First Texas Hospital and our eight First Choice Emergency Room outpatient departments.
Our company was founded on the idea of recreating how patients access emergency medical care. We began by designing our facilities differently, taking a patient-centered approach that combined patient and caregiver experience and safety. This is why you will find our facilities feature smaller footprints and private treatment rooms. Every First Texas facility utilizes hospital grade air filtration systems, and solid/seamless surfaces that make for improved germ control. Every room is cleaned after each patient encounter using hospital-grade cleaning and disinfectants that meet CDC requirements. All of this is backed up by a continuing education program for staff to ensure strict adherence to the CDC’s infection control policies and protocols. As an added safety measure, we provide each patient entering the facility with a surgical mask and prescreen for COVID-19 symptoms.
Patient safety is always a priority at First Texas Hospital, and during this unprecedented time we are taking steps to be extra vigilant. We are continuously monitoring the COVID-19 situation and CDC recommendations, and make updates to our procedures as this ever-changing situation unfolds. Thank you for putting your trust in us.
